Recap of Operation Gideon and ARC’s Mission, Part 3

What happened?

 There is a lot of mystery and more speculation around the details of the so-called “Operation Gideon.” What is clear is that, as far as they knew, Airan and Luke were working for a private contracting company called Silvercorp USA; owned by one of their most trusted special forces team-mates, Jordan Goudreau. This company had a contract with the recognized President of Venezuela to train Venezuelan opposition forces in overthrowing a dictator the US Government does not recognize and has drug trafficking indictments pending against. Luke and Airan were led to believe that this was done in partnership with the United States.

All evidence suggests that they were betrayed by Jordan Goudreau. Jordan did indeed have a contract with Juan Guaido, and the approval of the US Government early in this plan, but after several setbacks, including being heavily infiltrated, did not have the support to move forward.

It would seem at some point Jordan, running out of money and- no doubt- feeling betrayed by his previous supporters, changed sides. Jordan, from the everglades in Florida, made an announcement regarding an invasion into Venezuela. A very short time later, Maduro made the announcement that he had thwarted such an attack. The reality was, Luke and Airan were in a boat trying to escape wearing shorts and t-shirts, carrying nothing but their identification information.

As you can imagine,  Juan Guaido and the US Government have distanced themselves as much as possible from ever having anything to do with the incident, leaving two Green Berets to rot in a Venezuelan prison while their families try to find out what happened and how they can save these boys’ lives.

This involves a lot of time and resources dedicated to case research, raising awareness, especially among those politicians who would listen and earnestly take action, and maintaining a steady supply of items that Airan and Luke are allowed to receive.
